Coker was at little risk of missing tomorrow’s game after getting in a full practice on Tuesday. He was listed as a full participant again today before being cleared for action. Despite the quiet Week 7 showing, which saw Coker catch just one pass, fantasy managers should still treat him as a WR2 for Week 8.
Carolina also ruled out left guard Damien Lewis, who is dealing with a knee issue. Phillips also missed last week’s game because of a hamstring injury. The hope is that the mini-bye after Thursday Night Football is enough to get him back for Week 9. Phillips has 2.5 sacks this year.
Apparently Tate picked up the shoulder injury in Week 7’s loss to the Browns, when he caught five passes for 69 scoreless yards. If Tate is unable to practice headed into the weekend, Elic Ayomanor, who last week ran a route on 79 percent of the team’s drop backs and had 44 yards on three catches, would likely be the de factor WR1 for Tennessee. Tate has dominated air yards and targets this season and profiles as a positive regression candidate in the coming weeks.
Downs was cagey when asked on Wednesday morning whether he had officially asked for his ticket out of Indianapolis, but Fowler maintains the wideout has requested the Colts trade him before the NFL’s trade deadline. That could very well happen in the coming days with the miserable Colts in fire sale mode, having dealt Quenton Nelson to Seattle and DeForest Buckner to the Niners. Downs, who has 26 receptions for 307 scoreless yards this season, would make sense as a trade target for the wideout-needy Chiefs, the Steelers, and perhaps the Seahawks.
Diggs won’t practice Wednesday with an undisclosed injury. He should be fine for Washington’s Week 8 matchup against the Eagles, however. Diggs could see a slightly bigger role in the Commanders offense with Terry McLaurin (knee) done for the year. Diggs drafters should keep an eye on the veteran’s practice status in the coming days. Diggs has been targeted on a team-high 28 percent of his pass routes in 2026.
Rice, who hasn’t played since Week 4 against the Raiders, would be a big addition to the struggling Kansas City offense if he’s able to practice this week and suit up in Week 8 against the Broncos. Rice had been dominating targets in the Chiefs’ check-down offense, and would likely continue in that role if he can return this weekend. No other pass catcher in the Chiefs offense is a must-play for fantasy purposes for now.
Jackson surprisingly missed the Ravens’ Week 7 loss to the Bengals with his lingering ankle injury, which has been described as neither high nor low. “If Jackson’s injury history has taught the football world anything, his timeline to return can be complicated and an extended absence can derail the Ravens’ season,” Hensley said. “But ultimately, the only one who truly knows when Jackson will return is Jackson himself.” NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport said on Tuesday that he expected Jackson to suit up in Week 8 against the Bills. We likely won’t be sure of that until pre-game warmups. Tyler Huntley would continue as Baltimore’s starter if Jackson remains sidelined.
The Colts this week dealt DeForest Buckner to the 49ers and Quenton Nelson to the Seahawks in what looks like a fire sale ahead of the NFL’s trade deadline. Taylor could be next if the Colts are ready to go all in on a rebuild in 2027 and beyond. A contender would likely have to part with a second round draft pick if they want Taylor in the coming weeks. Teams that could be suitors for Taylor include the Bengals, Vikings, and Seahawks, all of whom have backfield issues.
Waddle left Sunday’s game against the Cardinals with the chest injury. It was, according to Rapoport, an “aggravation of his previous chest injury.” Waddle could try to practice later this week, but would appear to be iffy unless he can log a practice session by Friday. If Waddle is sidelined this week against the Chiefs, Courtland Sutton would likely see more targets and become an interesting flex option against a tough KC secondary. Sutton over the past four weeks leads Denver in air yards and has the second most targets behind Waddle.
ESPN’s Rob Demovsky relayed LaFleur’s noncommittal response to questions on Golden’s status. LaFleur said the team hopes Golden plays, but the 23-year-old has been an estimated DNP for the first two practices of the week due to shoulder and foot injuries. With the Packers playing on a short week against the Panthers, Golden’s status will likely rely on the final practice report before a Week 8 Thursday showdown against Carolina.
When asked about Parsons’ chances of practicing next week, LaFleur said, “I sure hope so.” He followed that up with, “I’m saying there’s a chance.” Parsons opened the season on the PUP list after an ACL tear late last season. The Packers have a Thursday game for Week 8, leading to a mini-bye where Parsons’ door to practice is at least cracked open.
He was deemed the best of a huge tryout with Ronnie Bell, Xavier Guillory, Jack Plummer and James Proche. Jones will work as a depth piece in Arizona, and for all you know that hasn’t always been the case.
It’s not the first time they’ve done so this season, so we’re not exactly sure that Demercado is done here. However he was a healthy scratch last night and the Cowboys are looking at activating some players off IR, so it’s possible if Demercado stays it’ll be as part of the practice squad.
It was his last possible day to be reinstated in his 21-day window. The fact that Klint Kubiak spent much of Thornton’s 21-day window talking about how he had to go show us something makes us think Thornton will probably just be a depth piece for the time being. The Raiders waived Jonah Laulu to make room for Thornton.
This does not have us optimistic that Golden will play on Thursday night. If he’s sidelined, Savion Williams will be a candidate for more work on offense and perhaps a worthwhile FLEX streamer, while Tucker Kraft will likely ascend to the No. 2 role.
It’s Tuesday, so we’re only 10 more Lamar updates from getting to the weekend. Rapoport believes according to people he’s spoken with that Jackson will play, and he is “believed to be as close to 100 percent as he has been.” Rapoport also noted that the Ravens weren’t “shocked” that Jackson didn’t play in Week 7, but with a Sunday and a Thursday coming up, wanted him ready for Week 8 and Week 9 badly.
In other words, it wasn’t exactly an endorsement that Jaxson Dart is the franchise quarterback. Dart, out for the year with a meniscus repair, will enter the third year of his rookie contract as the likely favorite to start assuming Nine hasn’t just blossomed into a great quarterback overnight. But it sounds like the Giants are at least open to the idea that McCarthy could alter the calculus here.
Buckner exits the Colts the same day Quenton Nelson does. It’s a coup for a 49ers defense that has lacked some oomph in one-on-one situations on the defensive line. Buckner, who was with the 49ers early in his career before being traded to the Colts for a first-round pick, will run it back with his original team. The Colts simply weren’t in a position to ask much for the 32-year-old, as they were capped at receiving only a fifth-round compensatory pick for him due to his age. The 49ers are generating a pretty nice playoff-ready defense assuming (as is always the question in San Francisco) it can there healthy.
Seems there’s little doubt that Coker will play on Thursday night. He’ll likely be removed from the injury report on Wednesday. Even after last week’s fiasco he likely belongs in the WR2 ranks.
He’ll miss at least the next four games. Taylor-Britt has played just 91 snaps for the Colts this year after coming over as a Lou Anarumo reclamation project. He has one sack, 13 tackles, and two passes defensed so far this year.
Well that sorts out the Giants backfield for the short term. Devin Singletary will take over as the primary passing down back behind Cam Skattebo and should be a usable FLEX play going forward. Tracy will miss the next four weeks after going down with the hamstring injury in the second quarter of New York’s win over the Texans in Week 7. Schoen indicated this isn’t a season-ender for Tracy.
The first-year UDFA rushed for 166 yards on 23 carries in the preseason for the Chargers, adding one touchdown and one eight-yard reception. We’d be surprised if he got real run in this backfield but at least he has the bye week to acclimate.
Likely was spotted limping at times during Week 7’s win over the Texans, which helps explain his subpar production. We’ll keep an eye on this one coming out of the bye, but we’re certainly not expecting anything serious here.
