Lions coach Dan Campbell told reporters RB Jahmyr Gibbs is a bell cow now.

RB Jahmyr, Gibbs DET
Jun 04, 2026 13:00

No surprise here as Gibbs already took over this role in the second half of last season, which necessitated the offseason trade of David Montgomery to the Texans. The 12th overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, Gibbs is coming off the board within the first two picks of fantasy drafts this year. He’s set to break the bank this offseason with a massive contract extension from the Lions coming.

ESPN’s Dan Graziano writes Cardinals EDGE Josh Sweat is letting it be known he’s unhappy in Arizona.

Josh, Sweat
Jun 04, 2026 12:00

Sweat joined the Cardinals last season, but is now staying away from the offseason program and letting it be known he’s unhappy, according to Graziano. If traded, the Cardinals would have to eat a significant dead cap charge and the trade compensation will likely reflect that. Graziano mentions the Patriots and Cowboys as teams with potential interest.

Lions WR Kendrick Law tore his ACL and will be out for the season.

WR Kendrick, Law DET
Jun 04, 2026 12:00

Law was a fifth-round pick by the Lions in the 2026 NFL Draft. He spent three years as a backup at Alabama before transferring to Kentucky, where he specialized in the short areas of the field. Law had 505 of his 540 receiving yards with Kentucky come after the catch with most of his targets coming behind the line of scrimmage. The torn ACL he suffered in practice on Tuesday is a devastating injury, particularly for a rookie who’s in need of development.

Lions coach Dan Campbell told reporters “I honestly don’t know” what to expect from S Kerby Joseph this season.

Kerby, Joseph
Jun 04, 2026 12:00

Joseph was named a first-team All-Pro in 2024, but played only six games last year with what’s turned into a debilitating knee injury. Campbell noted at Thursday’s press conference that Joseph continues to build strength in his knee and receive treatment, but the team isn’t going to push him until they absolutely have to. Detroit acquired veteran safeties Chuck Clark and Christian Izien this offseason while retaining Avonte Maddox and Thomas Harper to give themselves options with Joseph and Brain Branch (Achilles) on the mend.

Packers signed WR Christian Watson to a four-year, $110.5 million contract extension.

WR Christian, Watson GBP
Jun 04, 2026 12:00

The extension was first reported by ESPN’s Adam Schefter. The deal includes a $31 million signing bonus. The Packers have stocked their receiver room for years now. Green Bay let Romeo Doubs walk in free agency this offseason, but signed Watson and Jayden Reed to extensions this offseason after drafting Matthew Golden last year. Watson appeared in only 48 games in four seasons with the Packers. He appeared in just 10 games last year, but arguably had his best season and that was enough for Green Bay to lock him in as their top wideout for years to come.

Lions coach Dan Campbell told reporters they’re going to ask a lot of TE Sam LaPorta (back) this season.

TE Sam, LaPorta DET
Jun 04, 2026 12:00

Campbell made an off-hand comment during an answer about RB Jahmyr Gibbs, saying the team will be asking a lot of their skill position players and included LaPorta in the list. While the 25-year-old tight end still isn’t practicing after undergoing back surgery in November, Campbell isn’t forgetting about him. His tone was a stark contrast to how he spoke about other injured players and that alone is a good sign for LaPorta’s recovery.

Steelers signed TE Darnell Washington to a four-year, $42 million contract extension.

TE Darnell, Washington PIT
Jun 04, 2026 11:00

Washington’s contract includes $21 million in guaranteed money. A third-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft from Georgia, he’s been as advertised so far in his pro career. Washington has only 57 catches, 625 yards and two touchdowns in three seasons, but is a tremendous blocker and extremely difficult to tackle when he has the ball. Listed at 6-foot-7 and 264 pounds, he’s one of the most physically imposing players in the NFL. With a $10.5 million average annual value, Washington is 12th in AAV among tight ends. That level of commitment could be a sign the Steelers plan to use a good amount of two tight end sets with Washington and Pat Freiermuth in head coach Mike McCarthy’s first season.

ESPN’s Dan Graziano writes, “it feels like one of the Cardinals’ six RBs has to go.”

RB James, Conner ARI
Jun 04, 2026 11:00

Graziano could only be referring to James Conner and Trey Benson. He noted that Conner took a pay cut this offseason, which could signal that he’s still in the Cardinals’ plans, making a Benson deal potentially more likely. That seems unlikely, though, considering Arizona brought in Tyler Allgeier and Jeremiyah Love this offseason. Conner is still working off to the side with trainers at practice as he recovers from ankle surgery, but if he can return to the practice field soon then a trade could be in his future. Graziano mentioned the Bengals and Giants as teams that could be looking for running back help.

ESPN’s Dan Graziano writes the Falcons might want to see how TE Kyle Pitts Sr. fits in their new offense before committing to a long-term contract.

TE Kyle, Pitts ATL
Jun 04, 2026 11:00

Pitts is set to play on the franchise tag worth $15.045 million if he and the Falcons don’t agree to an extension by July 15. With Drake London signing a $141 million extension and Bijan Robinson also set to cash in this offseason, it’s unclear if the Falcons will also extend Pitts. The 25-year-old tight end had an excellent season in 2025, but was inconsistent in the previous four seasons. Graziano writes that if no extension is agreed upon and the Falcons struggle early in the season, he could become a trade candidate. He mentions the Raves as a team that would likely have interest.

SI.com’s John Shipley writes that Jaguars WR Brian Thomas Jr.'s development has been the biggest story at OTAs.

WR Brian, Thomas JAX
Jun 04, 2026 10:00

Thomas had a massive day in practice on Monday, according to Shipley. Jaguars corners couldn’t keep up with his speed and Thomas toasted them repeatedly. For the second week, the Jaguars’ biggest plays have flowed through Thomas, Shipley writes. The team is “chucking it deep a ton” in practice. If that carries into the season, Thomas, who’s being drafted as a WR3, will be the primary beneficiary.

ESPN’s Dan Graziano writes Patriots have received trade interest in WR Kayshon Boutte.

WR Kayshon, Boutte NEP
Jun 04, 2026 10:00

Boutte remains away from the team and is interested in being traded, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. The 24-year-old former sixth-round pick is in the last year of his contract and with the Patriots adding A.J. Brown and Romeo Doubs this offseason, the writing is on the wall. Graziano mentions the Commanders and Raiders as teams that could be looking for receiver help.

Rome Odunze said his 2025 foot injury created “a different type of foot structure with those bones.”

WR Rome, Odunze CHI
Jun 04, 2026 09:00

Odunze had 661 yards and six touchdowns last season over 12 regular season games before sustaining a foot injury that would linger into the postseason, when Odunze had four grabs over two playoff games. “This is my new normal,” Odunze said of the nagging foot injury. “And it’s not from a standpoint that I’m always in pain but the way my foot broke there’s callouses in there that, like, creates a different type of foot structure with those bones — different types of things that kind of shift things around.” Odunze added that the foot issue was not “going to prohibit me from making plays but I feel like with the break it’s just like when you tear your AC (shoulder joint) it’s never really back to normal.” The Bears, after trading DJ Moore to the Bills in the offseason, are hoping Odunze’s injury doesn’t flare up in 2026. He’ll likely be the team’s No. 2 wideout behind Luther Burden.

49ers’ OT Trent Williams said Wednesday that he is unsure if he will play beyond 2027.

Trent, Williams
Jun 03, 2026 19:00

Fresh off a two-year contract extension signed in April, Williams enters his 17th season in the league and said 2027 will “probably be his last.” The 12-time Pro Bowl tackle has been a mainstay for the 49ers up front since being acquired prior to the 2020 season, receiving All pro honors in 2021, 2022, and 2023. “I’m toying between the idea of going until I can’t no more and just leaving while I still got some good product left and I get ran out of the league, " Williams said Wednesday. “It’s hard not to compete when you can, so we’ll see.”

QB Russell Wilson announced his retirement from the NFL.

QB Russell, Wilson NYG
Jun 03, 2026 19:00

It was recently reported that Wilson was finalizing a contract to become a sports analyst with CBS, so the announcement of his retirement appears nothing more than a formality. The 14-year veteran amassed a remarkable 46,966 yards and 353 touchdowns in 205 appearances for the Seahawks, Broncos, Steelers, and Giants, winning Super Bowl XLVII with the Seahawks. He led the league in passing scores in 2017 and passer rating in 2015, also earning 10 Pro Bowl nods, most recently in 2024 with the Steelers, alongside Offensive Rookie of the Year and the Walter Payton Man of the Year awards. The Jets reportedly offered Wilson a contract earlier this spring but the Super Bowl champ ultimately decided to pursue broadcasting as a member of the CBS pregame crew.

California authorities have issued a warrant for the arrest of 49ers’ WR Brandon Aiyuk.

WR Brandon, Aiyuk SFO
Jun 03, 2026 17:00

The warrant stems from a video recorded by Aiyuk in December in which the beleaguered receiver filmed himself speeding past Levi’s Stadium. Aiyuk remains a member of the 49ers but the team has publicly stated that he has played his last snap with the franchise. Expectations were that the 49ers were looking to trade Aiyuk following June 1, but the most recent fallout from his display of character could throw a wrench in any ongoing negotiations. He appears headed for a release, subjecting himself to the mercy of the free agent market that also includes other notable veteran wide receivers.

Jets waived K Younghoe Koo and signed K Jason Sanders.

K Younghoe, Koo NYG
Jun 03, 2026 16:00

Koo has bounced around the league since leaving the Falcons and was ultimately unable to stick in New York long enough to compete with Cade York for the starting gig for the upcoming season. Expect Sanders to now compete with York in camp and preseason.

Packers EDGE Micah Parsons confirmed that he is likely to start the 2026 season on the Physically Unable to Perform List.

Micah, Parsons
Jun 03, 2026 15:00

“The goal for me is to complete the season,” Parsons said Wednesday. “The goal has always been playoffs.” Parsons added that the team has a strict nine-month policy for ACL rehab for players with more than one tear and that he had an associated meniscus procedure in December. The updated timeline places Parsons back to full football activities some time in September, likely looking at October before he returns to the field for the Packers.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports Cardinals DE Josh Sweat won’t be traded this offseason.

Josh, Sweat
Jun 03, 2026 13:00

This contradicts reports from last week that the Cardinals had received calls from potential suitors for Sweat as the veteran remains unsatisfied with his current contract situation. Sweat, who last season signed a four-year, $76.4 million deal with Arizona, racked up a dozen sacks and 17 quarterback hits last season for the bottom-dwelling Cards defense. It looks like, for now, Sweat will remain with the Cardinals. Arizona ranked 28th in QB pressure rate last season.

Alvin Kamara was present Wednesday for OTAs.

RB Alvin, Kamara NOS
Jun 03, 2026 13:00

Kamara showed up for practice while his 2026 contract situation is very much in flux. Several reports over the past couple weeks have suggested Kamara, entering his age-31 season, won’t return to the Saints for the 2026 season after the team signed Travis Etienne during free agency. Saints general manager Mickey Loomis said in mid-May that he’s “trying to see” how Kamara might fit on the team’s roster. Kamara carries a $10.4 million cap hit coming into the 2026 season if the Saints keep him on the team in the coming weeks. Kamara, who had 471 rushing yards over 11 games last season, ranked 32nd out of 75 qualifying running backs in missed tackles forced per carry. He ranked 70th in yards after contact per carry.

Bleacher Report’s Moe Moton believes Kimani Vidal could be a trade candidate this summer.

RB Kimani, Vidal LAC
Jun 03, 2026 11:00

Vidal, Moton said, could drop to RB3 on the Chargers’ depth chart this offseason if free agent signing Keaton Mitchell is healthy following a 2024 knee injury that kept him sidelined for much of the 2025 season in Baltimore. The Chargers in march re-signed Vidal to a one-year deal as an exclusive rights free agent after he ran for 643 yards and three touchdowns during the 2025 season. He also caught 16 passes on 20 targets, mostly when Omarion Hampton was sidelined with injury. Look for Mitchell to gain steam in fantasy circles if Vidal leaves LA in the coming weeks or months.

The Athletic’s Daniel Popper reports that Chargers QB Justin Herbert “will be taking a day off to rest his arm and focus on footwork about once a week through the rest of the spring.”

QB Justin, Herbert LAC
Jun 02, 2026 23:00

Herbert told Popper that his arm feels “pretty good,” but he “can definitely tell that [he is] heading into Year 7.” Veterans often get rest days, so this is nothing to be alarmed about. New Chargers OC Mike McDaniel recently outlined his plan to bring out the best in Herbert. He expanded on that plan with Popper, saying he believes the Chargers “can create more explosive plays in the short area of the field,” while also mitigating the opposing pass rush. Aligning Herbert’s footwork and release with his receivers’ route timing is key. In the past, Herbert has relied on his arm strength to make tight window throws after watching his pass catchers get open. Now, the 28-year-old quarterback is working on “trusting [his receivers], and just throwing it to a spot and letting them go get it.” If it all comes together, Herbert’s per-play efficiency could increase while his pressure-to-sack rate decreases this season.

Raiders RB coach Omar Young said RB Ashton Jeanty is doing all the right things to ensure he takes on a full-time role this season.

RB Ashton, Jeanty LVR
Jun 02, 2026 22:00

This is the second report in as many weeks, published on the team website, where Jeanty says he does not want to come off the field in 2026 and a Raiders coach backs him up. Per Young, Jeanty is currently refining his pass protection, receiving skills and ability “to make the simple plays in the run game.” It remains to be seen whether Raiders head coach Klint Kubiak will move on from the two-player backfield rotation that has served him well in the past. Thus far, though, Jeanty’s odds of securing a true bellcow role seem to be ever so slightly ticking upward.

Browns general manager Andrew Berry said the team is not interested in trading CB Denzel Ward.

Denzel, Ward
Jun 02, 2026 22:00

Berry fielded questions after trading EDGE Myles Garrett to the Rams in exchange for EDGE Jared Verse, a 2027 first-round pick, a 2028 second-round pick and a 2029 third-round pick. Understandably, reporters wanted to know if Ward, whom the team drafted via the No. 4 overall pick in 2018, one year after the team drafted Garrett No. 1 overall, was also available for trade. Berry restructured both players’ contracts this offseason and told the media that Garrett was not on the trade block. He could be telling the truth here, but the fact remains that trading away a talented, yet aging, cornerback could net decent draft capital for a team that is seemingly attempting a speedy reset.

NFL insider Jordan Schultz said former Rams DT Aaron Donald told him that returning to the NFL “is a possibility.”

Aaron, Donald
Jun 02, 2026 21:00

Schultz apparently texted Donald, 35, about whether he would consider coming out of retirement to play alongside new Rams EDGE Myles Garrett. Per Schultz, Donald responded by saying he is “for sure flirting with the idea,” and if he can “find the fire, it’s a possibility.” Donald also noted that this season’s Super Bowl will be hosted at the Rams’ SoFi Stadium, which appeals to him. Donald is still on the Rams’ reserve/retired list, so his 2024 salary can be reinstated if he decides he would like to return. According to Over The Cap, the Rams have $16.3 million in salary cap space this season. A potential return should not be expected. Retired players entertain returns from time to time, but most of the time, they decide to stay put. To be fair to Donald, though, it does seem like he is at least mildly weighing his options.

Cardinals coach Mike LaFleur said Michael Wilson will play the Puka Nacua role, “closer to the core,” as the Z-receiver.

WR Michael, Wilson ARI
Jun 02, 2026 20:00

LaFleur spent the last three seasons as Nacua’s offensive coordinator with the Rams. Taking on the Z-receiver role means that Wilson, 26, will have an easier time getting free releases because he gets to lineup off of the line of scrimmage. It’s great news, both for fantasy purposes and for Wilson, who is currently hoping for a contract extension. Wilson will also likely get opportunities to run routes from the slot. Wilson broke out in 2025, posting a 78/1,006/7 receiving line. Given the Cardinals’ unsettled quarterback situation, Wilson might prudently be viewed as a reliable FLEX option, but jumping up a tier or two is possible, depending on how the target pecking order shakes out between him, TE Trey McBride and WR Marvin Harrison Jr.
