Charbonnet underwent ACL reconstruction after suffering his season-ending knee injury in the Seahawks’ Divisional Round win over the 49ers. He will make his 2026 debut in Week 7 against the Chiefs, facing his former teammate, Kenneth Walker. Charbonnet’s expected workload is unknown, though he could handle enough touches to be FLEX-viable. As long as he stays healthy, Charbonnet should advance to the RB2 ranks in the coming weeks.
Arroyo will have multiple injured reserve stints on his NFL record by the time his third season begins next year. Arroyo has caught 16-of-26 targets for 196 yards and one touchdown in regular season play thus far in his career. The talented receiving tight end fell in the 2025 NFL Draft due to knee-related health concerns. Hopefully, a strong offseason propels him to career-best figures in 2027.
According to Hughes, “this is the player they targeted and wanted” as their quarterback the minute Jaxson Dart (knee) got hurt. Hughes acknowledges that coach John Harbaugh could eventually bench McCarthy later in the year, but it will take more than a bad “game or two” for that to happen. In the meantime, the weekly fantasy football outlooks for Malik Nabers and Isaiah Likely are more volatile than they were with Jameis Winston at the helm. Selling high could make sense. Hughes adds that McCarthy would have to play like a top-10 quarterback to make the coaching staff consider him for the starting role next season. That outcome seems highly unlikely.
Reporters on the scene said that Hall headed to the rehab area after reporters left the scene, so he’ll probably be given a limited session. Still, he moved well and likely at least has a chance to suit up for Week 7 after this update. Friday’s practice will be telling. It would be surprising if Hall doesn’t at least hit the questionable line as long as he practices on Friday.
After a weird limited session on Wednesday where he wasn’t out in front of the media, Jackson practiced today in full view of reporters, who noted that he was not favoring his ankle at all. Jackson’s injury has always felt tenuous, but even if Wednesday was sort of an aberration, he has to at least be considered to be moving towards playing. Friday’s status will tell the rest of the story, we expect him to at least be questionable after practicing the first two days of the week.
Hughes makes clear that he thinks Skattebo’s time as the clear-cut lead back is over, recapping coach John Harbaugh’s offseason attempts to acquire a bellcow, while noting that Skattebo is currently in the doghouse. Hughes believes Skattebo is a nice complementary player who can function as a physical change-of-pace option. The biggest issue the Giants face in replacing him is cost. He thinks a player like Jonathan Taylor will cost a Day 2 pick, at least, and he is not sure Taylor is worth that, given the Giants’ long-term plans for the 2027 draft capital they’ve accrued via various personnel moves. Trading away Kayvon Thibodeaux is an option, but doing so is challenging with Brian Burns (knee) out for the year.
The Chiefs made head athletic trainer Rick Burkholder available to the media to explain the 2026 Simmons Saga today. On August 17th, the young left tackle reported calf discomfort in the same leg that he underwent a patellar tendon repair in 2024. Chiefs trainers discovered that a bulging, herniated disc in his lumbar spine was causing the lower-leg issue. According to Burkholder, offensive linemen occasionally deal with this type of disc issue, but Simmons’ issue was complicated because it was abnormally high up in the lumbar spine. Simmons consulted with a well-regarded spine specialist, who recommended rehabilitation instead of surgery. Imaging taken early in the rehab process showed improvement, so they stayed the course, but unfortunately, Simmons’ recovery has recently plateaued, leading to the injured reserve placement. Simmons will be eligible to return for the Chiefs’ Week 11 game against the Cardinals.
Like we said yesterday, Montgomery is still seemingly in the week-to-week camp. Woody Marks and Dare Ogunbowale will likely split backfield touches this week. The Texans used both Marks and Jawhar Jordan last week, but Jordan suffered an injured reserve-worthy injury. Marks should be in starting lineups, but he may be more of a FLEX than a reliable RB2. Ogunbowale is a low-floor PPR dart throw.
Thomas, the team’s left tackle, RT Jermaine Eluemunor (calf) and backup OT Marcus Mbow (knee) are “all on the practice field participating to some degree in position drills during the media viewing period,” per USA Today’s Art Stapleton. This is good news for the Giants’ offense as a whole.
Mayfield has played through injuries regularly over the years. We expect him to be out there for the Buccaneers’ Week 7 game against the division rival Panthers. He is a QB2 for his first game back. A run-heavy game plan could be in the works as they ease him in. If his thumb really is good to go, though, this game could turn into a shootout.
Love got checked out by the team’s chiropractor after the game and was listed as limited for yesterday’s practice. LaFleur told reporters they haven’t determined whether he will be limited for today’s session. Either way, he said yesterday that there is no chance Love misses Week 7, so the practice reports are a moot point. Love is a top-half QB1 for his date with Detroit this week.
Love didn’t practice on Wednesday after missing Week 6. It doesn’t sound like he will practice at all this week. Tyler Allgeier and Bam Knight will split the backfield again this week. Allgeier out-carried Knight 18-15 last week, but Knight was far more effective, running for 80 yards in total. Allgeier posted just 38 yards. He still figures to be the lead runner this week, but Allgeier shine as a plug-and-play RB2 is waning headed into Week 7.
The same is true of Matthew Golden, who is dealing with a shoulder issue. Both players were estimated as limited participants for Wednesday’s walkthrough. It doesn’t look like either wideout is at risk of missing the Packers’ upcoming shootout with Detroit. Watson is currently fifth in the league in receiving yards at 538. Golden is sixth at 501. Both players hold a spot in the WR1 ranks heading into Week 7.
Barkley will unfortunately return to a team without Jalen Hurts, but the Eagles’ offense is otherwise getting healthier ahead of a must-win matchup with the Cowboys. Barkley has been out since Week 4 because of the hamstring issue. Even in his first game back, we would expect Barkley to get the lion’s share of the backfield touches against a Dallas defense that is giving up the 10th-most fantasy points to running backs. Barkley would be, at worst, an RB2 for his Week 7 return.
Charbonnet was expected to get a full week of practice, so this is no surprise. He is listed as a full participant for the first time since returning to practice and is trending to be activated off the physically unable to perform list ahead of a Week 7 matchup against the Chiefs. With Jadarian Price on injured reserve, he is headed for a sizeable share of the Seahawks’ ambiguous backfield. Charbonnet is in the RB3 ranks if activated.
Mason is firmly on track to play in Week 7 against the Colts. He should tentatively be expected to lead the backfield in carries right away, with Aaron Jones potentially settling into a 1B role. The Colts’ defense is not an imposing unit, so both running backs are FLEX-viable this week.
Kelce played through an ankle issue in Week 6, catching five passes for 53 yards. Despite not playing at full health, he was still second on the team in targets. Kelce starts out the week as a limited practice participant and it would be a surprise if he misses National Tight End Day this week against the Seahawks.
Shaheed was heavily involved in the Seahawks’ high-volume passing game in Week 6. He seemingly came out of the week banged-up and will open this week as a limited practice participant. Shaheed competes with Cooper Kupp for the No. 2 pass-catching role on the team but is only a boom-or-bust option for deep leagues at this point.
Daniels was carted off the field on a stretched in the Falcons’ Week 6 loss to the Bears. It was a scary scene that paused the game for around fifteen minutes as Daniels’ neck was stabilized after he hit his head while attempting to make a tackle. Fortunately, the rookie appears to be okay as he appeared in practice as a full participant on Wednesday.
Deablo suffered a forearm injury in Week 6 and opens Week 7 not practicing. Also not practicing was CB Billy Bowman (hamstring). Both will need to practice in some capacity to play in Week 7 against the 49ers.
Robinson is the immediate backup to Bijan Robinson in the Falcons’ backfield, seeing his best usage in run-heavy game scripts. He was limited with a hamstring injury on Wednesday but is still trending to play Week 7 against the 49ers, barring setbacks. Also limited was Olamide Zaccheaus (shoulder). Both players are depth options at best behind the Falcons’ star-studded skill players.
Waddle briefly exited the Broncos’ Week 6 win over the Seahawks before returning to the game. He now pops up on the practice report as a limited participant on Wednesday with a chest injury. Waddle is not in jeopardy of missing time just yet, but his poor fantasy production to start the season makes him a volatile fantasy option for Week 7 against the Cardinals.
Badie was a non-participant in practice with a thumb injury. With Jonah Coleman designated to return from injured reserve, Badie does not need to be rostered for fantasy purposes.
Love starts out not practicing for the second straight week due to an ankle injury. He missed Week 6 against the Rams and a DNP Wednesday puts him on the wrong side of questionable to play in Week 7 against the Broncos. Love will need to practice in some capacity to have a chance of playing this week, but Tyler Allgeier is back in the RB2 range if Love cannot go.
Kirk was limited all of last week but starts out this week listed as a full participant for the 49ers’ Wednesday walkthrough practice. He remains on injured reserve, but head coach Kyle Shanahan said Kirk is a “possibility” for Week 7. A full practice listing is a good start and Kirk could see WR3 volume immediately with Mike Evans and Deebo Samuel dealing with injuries.
