Hockenson was slammed into the ground on his first catch of the day. He got up slowly and was immediately checked out by the medical staff. Hockenson was eventually evaluated for a concussion and ruled out. With a bye week on deck for Week 6, Hockenson should be able to return for the team’s next game.
Making a spinning first quarter grab, Concepcion took a high hit from Minkah Fitzpatrick, who was flagged for a personal foul. It was the kind of hit the NFL is trying to legislate out of the game, but it wasn’t necessarily dirty. It was extremely unfortunate, as Concepcion did appear to be briefly out cold. He thankfully made his way to his feet and to the locker room unassisted, but he was ruled out before even undergoing a formal evaluation. He will now be highly questionable for Week 6 against the Ravens. Concepcion’s loss will mean more routes for beleaguered Jerry Jeudy.
Coming off a pair of quiet weeks, Washington paid off for fantasy managers early with a 51-yard score in the first quarter. It was somehow nowhere close to his best play of the day. Washington scored his second touchdown on a falling, one-handed grab in the end zone from 27 yards out near the end of the game. The grab was reminiscent of Odell Beckham’s famous touchdown catch. Washington remains the most talented and most involved receiver on the Jags. He will be a high-end WR2 versus the Texans next week.
Lawrence gave fantasy managers what they needed with a solid box score, but he was not the reason the Jags won this game. Lawrence struggled under pressure, throwing one ugly interception while putting the ball on the ground twice via sack-fumbles. Both were recovered by the Jags. The offense was also a catastrophe in the red zone, though a series of penalties and bizarre play calls are largely to blame there. Down by one with eight seconds left, it looked like the team’s struggles on offense would be too much to overcome. Instead, Ameer Abdullah returned a kickoff 53 yards to set up a walkoff field goal from Cam Little. If the Jags can clean things up after an uncharacteristically sloppy game, Lawrence will remain a mid-range QB1 for Week 6 versus the Texans.
Henderson ripped off a nice 11-yard rush and was tackled low out of bounds. He was slow to get up before being helped to the New England locker room for further evaluation. The oft-injured Henderson was seeing better-than-usual usage before his injury. Rhamondre Stevenson will function as the team’s workhorse back if Henderson once again misses time.
Cooper has been a touchdown magnet this year, scoring three times on five catches before today’s explosion. He broke loose against the Jags in the second quarter with a 62-yard grab. Cooper beat his man deep and his adjustment to the throw, which was thrown back toward the center of the field, put him in open space with a full head of steam. He ran untouched into the end zone. Cooper’s absurd touchdown efficiency can’t be sustained, but he is developing into a meaningful deep threat for a struggling Philly passing attack. He will at least warrant some FLEX consideration if DeVonta Smith remains out for Week 6 against the Panthers.
Steen left with the shoulder issue earlier in the game and was listed as questionable to return. Fred Johnson took his spot at right guard for a few drives. While the Eagles are still down several key names due to injury, Steen is no longer among them.
Hunt went down on the final play of the first half. The team initially brought out the cart for him, but he managed to limp off the field with the help of the medical staff. He doesn’t have an official injury status right now, but we’ll assume his day is over.
Why the Bears went through the dog and pony show of labeling Williams as “questionable” when everybody knew he would not be playing, nobody knows. Either way, Williams appears to have a strong chance of returning for Week 6 against the Falcons. Expect another run-heavy game plan, even without Monangai, in what should be the final game of the Tyson Bagent experience for the time being.
Higgins suffered an adductor injury in Week 4 against the Jaguars and was a full practice participant Friday after DNPs the two days before. Higgins and Ja’Marr Chase (concussion) both declared active. Though NFL Network’s Cameron Wolfe reports he will play mostly “meaningful plays”, Higgins is in the WR2 ranks while Chase is back in the WR1 ranks this week. The Bengals declared S Kyle Dugger, C Connor Lew, OT Myles Hinton, TE Jack Endries, WR Colbie Young, and DT Landon Robinson inactive for Week 5 against the Dolphins.
While it’s good news that McLaurin is active, NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo reported earlier that he is “likely not a full go” for Sunday’s game. To make matters worse, the Commanders and Giants are expected to battle it out in soggy conditions all afternoon, which could further limit McLaurin’s upside in this one. Fantasy managers hoping to play him need to temper expectations given his status and the game’s conditions, and shouldn’t consider McLaurin as anything more than a mid-to-low-end WR3. The Commanders announced WR Stefon Diggs (hamstring), QB Marcus Mariota (knee), S Tyler Owens (hamstring), S Nick Cross (illness), S Percy Butler (hamstring), OG Tanoa Togiai, and DE Charles Omenihu (groin/ankle) are inactive for Week 5.
New England’s injury-ravaged secondary could have a tough time slowing down the highly efficient Vegas passing offense today. The absence of Gonzalez and Davis should be a boon for both Tre Tucker and Brock Bowers. Kirk Cousins, who has 11 touchdowns to four interceptions this season, is a solid streaming option against the Patriots.
The Titans had named him questionable despite Robert Saleh saying he’d play on Friday, so this outcome was no surprise. Inactive for the Titans are: RB Nick Singleton, RB Michael Carter, S Amani Hooker (concussion), CB Jaylon Jones, T Brandon Crenshaw-Dickson, TE David Martin-Robinson (hamstring) and DT Jackie Marshall.
Jordan Addison is out. Jefferson would normally see plenty of targets anyway, but the absence of Addison all but guarantees that he will see one of the highest target shares in the league. Jefferson remains a top-end WR1 versus the Saints.
Addison seemingly gave it a go this morning but wasn’t quite ready to play. The Vikings get a Week 6 bye, so Addison should be ready to go when they return to face the Colts in two weeks. Also inactive for the Vikings are OT Christian Darrisaw, S Jakobe Thomas, WR Odell Beckham, CB Chuck Demmings, DT Elijah Williams, and QB Max Brosmer.
It’s a mercifully quiet injury day for the Packers in this grudge match. Inactive for the Pack are OL Jacob Monk, OG Aaron Banks, OL Donovan Jennings and DT Anthony Campbell.
He popped up on the Friday injury report with a calf, but will try to play through it. Inactive for the Jets are RB Breece Hall (quad), LB Kiko Mauigoa (quad), OL Dylan Parham (knee), WR Adonai Mitchell (finger), EDGE Nate Lynn and CB Nahshon Wright. The four with injury statuses were ruled out on Friday, the other two are healthy scratches.
Wright had back-to-back limited practices to close out the week after seemingly reaggravating a foot injury. He is active against the Bengals and will backup Ollie Gordon for Week 5. The Dolphins declared WR Caleb Douglas (ankle), RB Kaytron Allen, CB Reese Taylor, EDGE Rob Beal Jr., G DJ Campbell, OT Chukwuebuka Godrick, and TE Justin Joly inactive for Week 5 against the Bengals.
Kamara will split work with Kendre Miller and C.J. Donaldson. He projects to lead the group in carries and targets, giving him some RB3 potential. Inactive for the Saints are EDGE Anfernee Jennings, S Mike Reid, LB Kaden Elliss, OL Jeremiah Wright, DL Vernon Broughton, and DL Nathan Shepherd.
Allen got in a full practice on Friday, so he seemed to be trending towards being active, but now we know for sure. With Jamel Dean out this week and Joey Porter Jr. now in Dallas, the Colts’ passing game gets a slight bump, which is good news for Daniel Jones, who really needs to get back on track. The Colts inactives are: LB Jaylon Carlies, WR Ashton Dulin, QB Riley Leonard, WR Darius Slayton, and G Dalton Tucker.
The Texans had five questionable players, including three offensive linemen with illnesses. All three of those linemen will play, and Kayden McDonald and M.J. Stewart were activated off injured reserve to make their season debuts as well as the Texans try to avoid an 0-5 start.
Singletary is once again a healthy scratch as the Giants will roll with Cam Skattebo, Najee Harris, and Tyrone Tracy as their top three backs. J.J. McCarthy will serve as the QB2 behind Jameis Winston in what figures to be a messy game in the elements in Washington this afternoon.
Jeanty will play through his foot and ankle injuries against New England. It wouldn’t be surprising if he cedes some backfield work to a healthy and much more explosive Mike Washington, however. Jeanty should be considered a top-24 option this week while Washington is a desperation flex. Raiders declared WR Jalen Nailor, QB Aidan O’Connell, S Tristin McCollum, RB Roman Hemby, S Dalton Johnson, OL Trey Zuhn, and DT JJ Pegues inactive against the Patriots.
It was reported earlier in the day that Dowdle was unlikely to suit up due to his ongoing foot injury, so this doesn’t come as a major surprise. We could be looking at a big game for Jaylen Warren against an underperforming Colts defense. With Keenan Allen back for the Colts, the injury to Jamel Dean is a bit of a blow to this Pittsburgh secondary.
