DeMario Douglas caught 3-of-3 targets for 76 yards and one touchdown in the Patriots’ Week 8 win over the Dolphins. 2026-11-01 21:00:02 The Patriots rolled with 12 personnel on their first play from scrimmage, so Douglas began his day on the sideline. Hunter Henry suffered an apparent foot injury early on, which likely afforded Douglas extra snaps via 11 personnel. He made his opportunities count. Douglas critically picked up a first down, powering through contact on 4th-and-2 on the Patriots’ eighth drive. He showed up again on the Patriots’ ninth drive, securing a play-action pass along the right sideline before juking a Dolphins safety and slipping a shoestring tackle attempt from JuJu Brents before racing into the end zone for a 48-yard touchdown. Douglas is a FLEX option against the Patriots next week. |

DeMario Douglas caught 3-of-4 targets for 23 yards in the Patriots’ Week 7 loss to the Bears. 2026-10-23 01:00:01 The magic of the previous two games quickly evaporated for the diminutive slot receiver as Hunter Henry and Rhamondre Stevenson stepped into the primary security blanket role for Drake Maye, the latter of whom faced consistent pressure from the aggressive Dennis Allen Bears defense. Starting Douglas on a weekly basis is akin to reaching your hand into a brown paper bag found on the side of the road. It feels exhilarating at the time but you never know what you’re going to get. |

Demario Douglas caught 5-of-7 targets for 20 yards in the Patriots’ Week 1 loss to the Seahawks. 2026-09-10 01:00:02 Seattle shut down the Patriots’ deep passing game, forcing Drake Maye to pepper Douglas with low-value check-downs. Douglas wound up leading the Pats in targets and catches. He finished fifth in receiving yards. With A.J. Brown banged up, Douglas could be in line for another smattering of targets next week versus the Steelers. Even with Brown out, Douglas would barely register as a PPR WR5. |

ESPN’s Mike Reiss reports that Patriots WR DeMario Douglas took the first rep for every positional drill at organized team activities on Wednesday. 2026-05-31 16:00:02 It is important to remember that first-team usage in team drills generally tells us more than what we see in positional drills. That said, positional drill ordering can sometimes reflect the position’s depth chart. Douglas was, in no way, the Patriots’ No. 1 wide receiver last year. In fact, his productivity was limited by his slot-bound, No. 3 deployment. We suspect Douglas is most likely competing for the No. 3 role again, behind WR Romeo Doubs and wind-sprinter WR Mack Hollins, as the roster currently stands. Do not rush to conclusions about a breakout year from Douglas. For now, just file this one away and check back to see what Douglas is doing in the coming weeks. He has a long way to go before we can view him as more than a boom-bust FLEX. |
