Omarion Hampton had nine rushes for 20 yards in the Chargers’ Week 8 loss to the Rams, adding two catches for seven yards. 2026-11-01 22:00:03 It was business as usual for the plodding Hampton, who breaks no tackles and does nothing beyond what is blocked for him. Hampton, who now has less than 50 rushing yards in five games this season, was third in pass routes among LA running backs on the day and tied with Keaton Mitchell with three targets. Hampton’s role doesn’t offer much: Coming into Week 8, he ranked 31st among running backs in expected fantasy points per game (and 37th in actual fantasy points per game). With no ceiling of which to speak, Hampton should stay on benches in Week 9 against the Texans. |

Omarion Hampton had seven rushes for 18 yards in the Chargers’ Week 6 loss to the Chiefs, adding four catches for 21 yards. 2026-10-18 20:00:02 Hampton was his usual plodding self in this one, with a long rush of four yards in another depressing outing for the LA offense. Kimani Vidal, meanwhile had seven rushes for 21 yards and got much of his work in the first quarter. Keaton Mitchell had just two carries and did not catch his lone target. Hampton led the backfield in routes and targets on the day. His diminishing role and his lack of efficiency has made Hampton nothing more than a touchdown-dependent desperation flex option this year. The Chargers have a bye in Week 7. |

Omarion Hampton rushed 14 times for 33 yards in the Chargers’ Week 5 loss to the Broncos. 2026-10-11 21:00:02 Webster’s defines plodding as whatever this was. Hampton picked up a literal third of his yards on one 11-yard carry, and while much of the blame goes to the sheer lack of bodies on the offensive line, it was still mightily unimpressive. Hampton is at best a dart-throw FLEX for Week 6 against the Chiefs. |

Chargers offensive coordinator Mike McDaniel said he has not lost “any faith” in Omarion Hampton. 2026-10-08 15:00:02 “I don’t see any change in terms of the depth chart at all. I felt I was underutilizing a strength,” McDaniel said about the increased usage of Keaton Mitchell and Kimani Vidal. McDaniel’s statement is good for Hampton in the sense that we know Hampton will retain a reasonable role. And it’s bad because McDaniel is all but confirming the pecking order will remain the same. Expect more low-end RB2/FLEX nonsense from Hampton. |

Omarion Hampton rushed nine times for 45 yards and a touchdown in the Chargers’ Week 4 loss to the Seahawks. 2026-10-04 20:00:02 Hampton’s late touchdown that still left the Chargers down by 10 in the middle of the fourth quarter is the only positive of the day. Los Angeles clearly isn’t enamored with the second-year tailback — or at the very best, is concerned about keeping him healthy — right now, and he was clearly in a timeshare again with Keaton Mitchell and Kimani Vidal. He’s at best a FLEX play for Week 5 against the tough Denver defense. |
