Ramsey has a fracture in his wrist. He logged two limited sessions to close out the week. The Buccaneers’ passing attack is hardly imposing with Baker Mayfield (thumb) sidelined, but the Steelers would surely love to have Ramsey out there.
This is worth watching. Benton is a talented interior defender. Bucky Irving’s Week 6 outlook would be enhanced if Benton is unable to play this week. Stay tuned.
With Ladd McConkey and Quentin Johnston suiting up this week, any chance of Lambert-Smith returning to real fantasy value looks quashed. For this week, anyway. He did get in a full session today. If activated off injured reserve ahead of the contest, he can be ignored until after the Week 7 bye.
That is back-to-back weeks of no James. Donte Jackson (hamstring) was also ruled out. We’re almost through the Chargers blurbs. We think they should just put some people on injured reserve too. Keep reading.
Gordon, the team’s starting slot cornerback, and Tyrique Stevenson (hip), the team’s No. 2 perimeter cornerback, are both questionable. Bears LB T.J. Edwards (hamstring) has been ruled out. This defense is banged up, boding positively for the Falcons’ fantasy football outlook.
Thompson worked three limited sessions. If active he’ll likely be a boom-bust deep-league FLEX play as the Chargers have struggled to go deep with their current offensive line situation.
It’ll be the Jalon Daniels show again. Mayfield did not practice at any point this week. Todd Bowles tried to tell us that it was too early to tell earlier today; it wasn’t. We’ll need to see Mayfield on the practice field next week before we think he has a real shot to play against the Panthers in Week 7.
The Patriots’ No. 2 running back was limited all week after being diagnosed with a high-ankle sprain. He told reporters today that he was surprised he could practice this week, and is feeling “pretty good.” If active, he will be a FLEX starter, but Rhamondre Stevenson should lead the backfield in touches.
He did upgrade to a full practice and Aaron Glenn told reporters he expects Sadiq to play. Sadiq’s fantasy upside is well-known, but with Mason Taylor back and Omar Cooper Jr. also pushing to play, his target volume has shrunk quite a bit from some of the early-season scenarios we’ve seen. He’s likely a TE2 at this point.
Gonzalez has not played since Week 3, but he returns in time to cover Garrett Wilson in a divisional showdown. Gonzalez primarily lines up on the perimeter, but he has taken 15 combined snaps in the slot and in the box. He could take a few reps on the inside this week, but perimeter CB2 Carlton Davis (neck) is out, so Gonzalez could be asked to simply stay out wide.
Cooper missed the first six games of the season while on the list, and his felony court case has been moved to after the season. It’s unclear if the league considers time served on this list as separate from a personal conduct policy violation; it’s possible Cooper faces another suspension at some point. For now, it seems the NFL is content to let him play in Week 7 despite unresolved felony assault charges and domestic violence and harassment charges.
Campbell injured his knee in Week 5, initially causing quite the scare. Fortunately, he was able to practice all week and has a chance to face the Jets and their talented pass-rush group in Week 6.
According to Schefter, “the investigation will remain open for the NFL, so it reserves the right to add further discipline if and when warranted.” Yesterday, ESPN’s Rob Demovsky reported that the league is trying to get ahold of the video showing Jacobs’ altercation with a woman at his home. Jacobs is expected to be eligible to play in Week 7 against the Lions. The situation clearly remains in flux, but Jacobs can be stashed on fantasy football benches at this time.
Perhaps feeling a bit wistful after spending a little of every week of the season on the injury report, Flowers got re-added Thursday with a limited session. He was limited again on Friday but is expected to play. There’s no further word on how serious this toe injury was, but he’s doing enough on the field in his limited time so far this year that nobody is seriously benching Flowers anyway.
Bateman was a surprise DNP on Thursday, but got in a full session today. He remains an uninspiring FLEX option against the Browns in Week 6.
Lane practiced in full all week, lending credence to the idea that he’ll be activated. Ravens coach Jesse Minter stopped short of saying Lane would play when given a chance, saying they’d “figure that out,” but said he had a great week of practice.
Olave missed the first two days of practice this week with the illness, but we’d ultimately still expect him to play. He should be regarded as on the optimistic side of questionable. He’ll be an easy WR1, assuming he plays, against the Giants in Week 6.
Kamara practiced each day this week, so it’s a bit surprising to see him here. Assuming no rough quotes or reports come out, we’d regard him as on the optimistic side of questionable. He’s a reasonable FLEX play against the Giants.
We expect to see Tucker officially listed as questionable to play when the injury report drops later today. If he ends up being inactive, that is good news for Bucky Irving, who handled 23 touches last week, ceding seven to Kenny Gainwell and five to Tucker. Irving warrants borderline RB1/2 treatment at this time.
It seems like Xavier Worthy and Travis Kelce will be getting Only Game In Town treatment against the Chargers, with Cyrus Allen and Jalen Royals also in the mix at wideout now that Rice and Tyquan Thornton are both out. Andy Reid said Rice is “wanting to jump in on everything” but he did not practice this week. He has to be regarded as questionable for Week 7.
Winfield’s absence is consequential. The centerfield prowler makes an impact when he is in the game. The Steelers should have a slightly easier time moving the ball against the Buccaneers this week.
Simmons did actually practice this week, so he’s trending in the right direction, but Khalil Benson gets another start while Simmons tries to get past a bulging disc in his back.
McDuffie reportedly injured his groin during Thursday’s practice, and is now questionable to play. Frankly, the Rams can probably get by without their No. 1 cornerback this week, though obviously it would be preferable to have him out there. Stay tuned.
Giants beat writer Dan Duggan chimed in with “I would be very surprised if [Cam] Skattebo has the same RB1 workload on Sunday that he’s had in the first five games.” Skattebo has put the ball on the ground four times in the first five games. Najee Harris has one in 27 carries and Tyrone Tracy has added two. It sounds like Harris may start to be a significant thorn in the side of Skattebo-reliant managers.
Though he’s nominally the third back with David Montgomery out, the Texans tipped how they felt about Dare Ogunbowale as a running back by not using him a single time after Montgomery was ruled out against the Titans in Week 5. It seems likely that Jordan will be the main Woody Marks change-up in London, though given how poorly the Texans have ran the ball this year that probably doesn’t equate to much fantasy equity.
